How To Set Up Your Paddleboard

Step By Step Guide To Set Up And Put Away Your Inflatable Paddleboard

Unpack And Unroll

  • Unpack your board, pump, fin, paddle and ankle leash, lay them out in order ready to use.
  • Undo the strap and unroll your board on a flat, soft area of ground (Grass or Sand is ideal)

Connect The Pump And Inflate

  • Connect the hose to the pump at the top on the handle, ensure the dual action valve is closed (near the top of the pump) and connect the pump to the board (ensure the board valve is shut)
  • For the initial part of the inflation use the pump in dual mode (inflates on both push and pull), when pumping becomes difficult open the dual pump valve (the twist valve at the top of the pump), this switches to single action (only pump on the downward motion). At the same time you switch to single action, connect the fin by sliding it into the slot at the back on the underside. Continue with single action until you get to your desired pressure (see pressure table)

Assemble The Paddle, Attach The Ankle Leash And Check Everything Is Set Correct

  • Assemble your paddle by connecting the paddle, main shaft and the handle together setting the paddle length that suits you best. If at this stage you want the paddle to be held securely, undo the clamp and rotate clockwise to tighten (there is a small image to show the directions on the clamp)
  • Attach the ankle leash to the safety loop next to the valve
  • Most important step is to check all of your gear and make sure everything is set up correctly and safely

Have Fun

  • Get out on the water and have fun on your board. Be careful on the water and take any safety precautions necessary, look out for anyone around you

Clean Down

  • When you exit the water you should always clean down your board to avoid any build up of mould or bacteria
  • Cleaning down the board ensures that you do not contaminate any lake/water by carrying bacteria from one to the next
  • Cleaning down the board also helps improve the life of the board

Release The Pressure And Remove All The Air

  • To release the pressure, undo the valve cover and press the valve release. Caution with this stage as the board is under pressure and this will release the pressure very quickly to start, do not hold anything over the valve and do not look directly into the valve!
  • Once the pressure has released, remove the fin from underneath and compress the board to remove most of the air.
  • Once you have removed most of the air, close the valve and swap the pump to draw air out (the pipe attaches to the bottom of the pump). Connect it to the board and pump all the air out

Roll up tight and Pack up

  • To best fit all the contents back into the bag, roll the board up as tight as possible starting from the nose. Once it is rolled up, use the supplied strap to hold it tight together
  • Take your paddle apart, collect all your items together and carefully pack your items, starting with the board.

Comparison between Stealth Adjustable Dumbbells and Fixed Weight Dumbbells

The outcome

From all the date we collated, we were able to calculate the following:

an average cost for the set (2.5-40kg) as £2,078.39

An average cost per kg as £3.12

Comparing this to the cost of a set of adjustable dumbbells

the 4kg-41.5kg retails at £699

With an average cost per kg of £0.59

Or as it is currently on discount at £550 it has a Price per kg of £0.46

This shows that at retail price the an average set of fixed weight dumbbells will be 5.29 times more expensive per kg than the Stealth Adjustable Dumbbells.

or 6.78 times more expensive at the current discount.

On this page we show the data we have used in a price comparison between fixed weight dumbbells and the Stealth Adjustable Dumbbells.

We have compared both Hex and Round variations of dumbbells from 20 different sources to determine the average cost per set (2.5kg - 40kg in 2.5kg increments) and also the price per kg (£/kg) in order to generate a comparison against the 4-41.5kg Stealth Adjustable Dumbbells.

The weight options for a set of 2.5kg-40kg consist of a pair of each of the following (16 Pairs), 2.5kg, 5kg, 7.5kg, 10kg, 12.5kg, 15kg, 17.5kg, 20kg, 22.5kg, 25kg, 27.5kg, 30kg, 32.5kg, 35kg, 37.5kg, 40kg.
this totals 680kg.

The stealth 4-41.5kg adjustable dumbbells cover a weight range of 4kg to 41.5kg which offers the equivalent to a pair of each of the following (26 Pairs), 4kg, 5.5kg, 7kg, 8.5kg, 10kg, 11.5kg, 13kg, 14.5kg, 16kg, 17.5kg, 19kg, 20.5kg, 22kg, 23.5kg, 25kg, 26.5kg, 28kg, 29.5kg, 31kg, 32.5kg, 34kg, 35.5kg, 37kg, 38.5kg, 40kg, 41.5kg.
this totals 1183kg.

In order to decide which companies to use we googled the word "Dumbbells" and took the top results that supplied the vast majority of the range 2.5kg-40kg in either round or hex dumbbells, this accounted for what we believe most people would do if they were ordering a set as an alternative to the adjustable dumbbells.
On top of this we used the price from Assassin Goods as again this is a likely alternative to the dumbbells

To offer a more reliable outcome we have also opted to calculate a price per kg (Or equivalent kg) for the data.

This will be a better representation of the value as the adjustable dumbbells cover a much larger number of weight increments and therefore would be equivalent to a larger total kg.

In order to calculate this figure we simply took the package costs and divided them by the weight of the package to end up with a £/kg number

As with all tests and comparisons there are limitations.

The main ones we have come across are as follows,

1. Shipping, some companies charge shipping, some do not. we did not factor this into the comparison as it is very much address dependant, however stealth dumbbells are shipped free to UK mainland

2. Stands, we have not factored stands into the cost unless already included in the package as some companies do not offer specific stands or some just don't offer stands at all

3. This test does not address the idea that with a full set of fixed dumbbells you have the option of multiple dumbbells being in use at once, nor does it take into account the weight and volume of the set for storage and transportation purposes

Unfortunately during this test we had a number of issues that may skew the results for the package prices

Firstly, some companies don't stock the full range of dumbbells

Secondly, there were a number of sales on the products, these are likely temporary and so the prices taken are from August 2024

Finally, some companies offered packages, whereas some companies the dumbbells had to be purchases as individuals or as pairs
