I got the black 41.5kg set this month, and am very happy with them, despite being a long way off utilising the full weight.
The versatility in this single pair is brilliant and quickly & easily accessed, and the space saved by not buying multiple sets of dumbbells is not to be underestimated.
I was intrigued by the mechanism, and noticed that it only added extra plates on every other increment. It took me a while to figure out that a 1.5kg weight on the underside is being picked up and dropped off with alternating twists of the handle.
It can play with the balance on particular exercises that require rotation around the axis of the handle if the extra mass is missing from the underside, making them slightly top heavy, so I prefer incrementing by 3kg to retain the extra mass underneath.
Maybe when I'm stronger the imbalance won't bother me as much. As the weight gets heavier, proportionally it will be less affected.
I also find a pair of lifting gloves are needed, so that I don't grate my hands to the bone on the metal grip. I'm so delicate. Take pity.
