I was intending to wait until 6 months down the line to write my review but my experience so far, as well as some down time in work that needs filling, have led me to bring the timeline forward. I've used these for 6 weeks now and believe they will be partially accountable for one of the most positive changes I've ever made in my life. I bought them as a reward to myself for 6 months of regular exercise - habit formed so can justify the financial outlay on something like these. The build quality astonished me from the moment I started assembling them. Everything about them works perfectly as advertised. They don't take up much space, they are pleasant to look at, they don't look dissimilar to regular dumbbells. For me, I have always hated the gym, I love exercise in its various forms but have never been able to do much in the way of gaining muscle as a result of disliking gyms. Press ups and planks and so on will get you so far but without the mindset of an SAS soldier -something I certainly don't have - it's difficult to make good, fast progress with bodyweight exercises.These dumbbells have solved that for me: to have access to weight training in my own home, in an attractive form factor and with very small steps between weight increases so that even someone brand new to weight training like me can overload easily I genuinely feel like a different person than i was a few months ago. I sincerely hope that the care I take when replacing them into the stand will be reflected in their longevity but for the time being if I could give more stars I would.
